Trauma-Sensitive Yoga/TCTSY

Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is an evidence-based intervention (EBI) specifically developed for people with complex trauma and/or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Research has shown that trauma-sensitive yoga reduces symptoms in this group.

The method we use was developed by Dave Emerson and others (Trauma Center in Brookline, Massachusetts). It's an intervention that supports you in (re)establishing connections between your body and brain. This helps you learn to better sense your body's signals, allowing you to take action independently.

During a trauma-sensitive yoga session, I invite you to make choices about the forms and movements you want to incorporate. This allows you to practice making choices in the here and now, while focusing on the theme of "safety."
